Mission

To inspire all youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as responsible, caring, productive citizens.

What is the Boys & Girls Club?

In every community, an increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys & girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow - all while having fun.

Hours & Policies

The club is open during the school year for normal program hours from 2:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Membership dues for normal program hours are currently $52 per year per child.

Open hours vary during school holidays and non-school days.  Please refer to the Club calendar or call the Club at 440-9505 for these times.

The club operates a drop-in program with a safe passage policy. Members are allowed to come and go at will throughout the program day. We do strongly encourage children to remain in the activities conducted both inside and outside the club by the staff, but do not prevent them from leaving the building if they so desire.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Umpqua Valley is not after school daycare and is not a licensed childcare agency. Please contact the club for additional information.

What we do:

The Boys & Girls Clubs provide programming in the following areas:
  • Character & Leadership Development
  • Education & Career Development
  • Health & Life Skills
  • The Arts
  • Sports, Fitness & Recreation

Every day members are helped with their homework, participate in organized games & sports, arts & crafts projects, and enjoy a nutritious snack. In addition to regular Club activities, members have the opportunity to participate in weekly special interest clubs like SMART Moves, SMART Girls, PASSPORT to Manhood, Fitness Authority and other clubs.

We believe that young people from all backgrounds are capable of making the most of their lives and talents when they are given two essential things - opportunities and support. Our clubs provide access to both, using our time-tested youth development strategy. We offer a wide variety of challenging and fun activities, giving kids countless opportunities to pursue existing interests and develop new ones, gaining skills as they go. And our professional staff is there to offer support and guidance, serving as caring mentors, friends and role models.

We Support Parents and Communities

Our club is open after school, on early release days, no school days, and throughout the summer, providing parents and our community with a safe, positive place for kids and teens to socialize and engage in structured activities. Our staff is trained and skilled at assessing the individual needs and interests of youth and engaging them in appropriate activities. We partner with neighborhood schools and other social service agencies seeking to bring together resources for kids.
